Awesome Make up Brand: KIKO

By Suzanne

Heey!
Last week I went to Rome!! I will upload photos from my trip in a few days, but first I want to tell you about an awesome Italian make up brand: Kiko. I already owned a few Kiko products, but when I saw the shop in Italy I went crazy and bought four more things (:
Continue reading to see the products, and I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do!

Let's start with the most expensive product.
I bought this highlighter for 7,50 - which is still cheap, from my opinion.
It's called Frozen Light All Over #03 and it is sooo pretty! With just one stroke, it gives my cheeckbones a beautiful glow.

The next product is this Highly Pigmented Eyeshadow #162. It's a shimmery blue colour, which tends to be grey in some kinds of light. I don't know the price, because it was a gift from my friend.

This Mixing Solution is similar to Mixing Medium from Mac, although this one is 3,90 - which is at least 6 times cheaper :) It can be used to mix two (loose) eyeshadows together, and it also makes the colours so much more pigmented! On the picture on the right I added a drop to the blue eyeshadow. If you compare the picture to the swatch above, you can see the pigment increasing.

The nailpolishes (called Nail Laquer) from Kiko are great! They are very cheap (3,90), opaque, and last for a long time. I was too lazy to make a swatch, I'm sorry!

Last but certainly not least is this Vibrant Eye Pencil #606.
I doubted for a long time if I should buy this baby because it's a bit expensive for an eye pencil (5,20), but at the end I couldn't resist :)

In brief: please come to Holland, Kiko, I love you!

Shoplog previous weekend

 Hi everyone,

Because I bought so many awesome things this weekend, I want to show you my shoplog (:

Look. At. That. Isn't that just gorgeous? It's #08 Night in Vegas, a special effect topper by Essence. (It's about the topcoat, I just applied a black polish underneath it) When I look at my nails from the front, I see orange flakes, but when you look at it from various directions, it's also green en yellow. I swear, it's a 1000 times more special than the picture shows.

Another nail polish from Essence: you gotta love them! This one is a beautiful green/blue sparkly varnish, it's called #38 Choose me!

I just couln't ignore the fact that the Rimmel London sale is still there (I've already bought 2 lipsticks a few weeks ago): the lipsticks are now 5 euros. So I purchased this one (#320 Funtime Fuchsia): its very bright and I don't know if I'm going to wear it that much... but it's preeeeetty!

Then again Essence in my shoplog: a dark green gel eyeliner (#04 I love NYC)

My black eyeshadow was broken (the powder caused a huge mess in my make up bag, it was a disaster), and I really need one so I bought #140 The Captain Of The Black Pearl by Catrice.

I really like Catrice's eyeshadows, I coudn't resist buying another one. Its a nude colour (#340 Ooops... Nude Did It Again!), it barely shows on the picture but it's great for blending other eyeshadows.

Lastly I saw this make up book for just 8 euros! It's Dutch, with very clear explanations and beautiful pictures.

I usually don't buy much but as you can probably see I'm a huge shopaholic when it comes to make up!

5 favorite nail polishes

Hi everyone,
Today I'd like to share with you... my 5 favorite nail polishes!
Mind that:
- I put the polishes in a random order
- The Kiko polish is from Milan and the Barry M one from London, I bought the other three in Holland.
- I'm sorry if the polish on my thumb nail is messy, after a few times of applying and removing different colours I got bored...

Hope you liked it (:

Quick Make up Tips #1

Hey!
Due to my extreme lazyness, I love quick make up tips. Sometimes I invent a trick/I hear one from a beauty guru that is so genius and simple I just HAVE to share it!
So... check out the video I made: five easy breezy make up tips!

If the video above doesn't show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Suu-hgYijUM

The five tips in the clip:
1. Create a cover from adhesive tape to protect your brush
2. Place a drop of nail polish on the lid so you can easily see what colour is in the bottle
3. Held your kohl pencil above a flame - suddenly it will be very pigmented!
4. Before buying lipstick, test it in the store on your fingertip
5. When your lips are chapped: scrub your them before applying vaseline

Hope it helps!

REVIEW: Makeup The Ultimate Guide

Hi reader!
Today I want to talk about a make up guide I own: Makeup The Ultimate Guide by Rae Morris. I've bought it quite a while ago, and I adore it so much I just had to tell you guys! Whether you're just an experimenting beginner, or a professional make up artist, as long as you're into make up: you'll love it!

This magical guide contains 246 pages of tips & tricks about important products and brushes, eyebrow shapes, false lashes, prepping the skin, contouring, and the best part: the huge amount of looks and step-by-step explanations on how to create them. Let me show you some subjects The Ultimate Guide focusses on (:

Rae Morris starts off with a list of products that she thinks are essential.

A few of the many tutorials.

Rae has created a few looks especially for Asian eyes...

... as well as a chapter fore the matured women.

She gives lots of information about contouring your face.

   The photos are amazing!

The bright explanations and the beautiful photographs combined with Rae's humour make this book a must-have for everyone interested in make up.
It's true, this book is my holy bible (:

5 for less then 5

Hi everyone!

Because december is the month of being broke (I am, thanks to the stores that seduce me with huge make up sales and to lots and lots of people for whom I had to buy a present), I came up with this post. I'm going to show you five amazing products that you can get for less than $5!

When it comes to brushes, I highly recommend the ELF (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/makeup/tools/single-brushes) ones. I use the eyeshadow brushes every day and the kabuki brush (= small round one) is soooo soft! The eyeshadow brushes are both $1, the stippling brush costs $3 and the kabuki brush is $5.

Another product that I use every single day is the Multi Action Mascara from Essence (www.essence.eu/nl/producten/ogen/mascara.html). I like it because it doesn't smudge during my cycling tour to school, which other (more expensive) mascaras tend to do.

I know lots of beauty addicts on YouTube love this concealer from Collection 2000 (http://www.collection2000.co.uk/products/face/concealer/lasting-perfection-concealer.aspx), and I agree! It's very cheap and very awesome!

For your nails, I recommend the Catrice polishes (http://www.catrice.eu/nl/producten/nagels/nagels/detail/product/ultimate-nail-lacquer-140.html). They are fabulous and Catrice has an extremely wide range of colours.

Last but not least, I love love love the Lipstains from NYC (www.newyorkcolor.com/products/lips/lipcolor/smooch-proof-16hr-lip-stain). They are beautiful and it doesn't feel like you're wearing a lip product!

You see, make up doesn't have to be expensive! Happy Holidays everyone! I'm sure you'll look glamorous, with or without make up (:

xoxo
